The second annual FIA Institute
Summit was hailed by leading figures in motor sport for helping
to improve medical facilities and safety in motor racing worldwide.
The Bahrain International Circuit
today welcomed leading motor sport medical specialists from
around the world for the second annual FIA Institute Summit.
The Grand Prix Drivers Association (GPDA) is the latest organisation to voice its support for the annual FIA Institute Safety Summit, which this year is hosted at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) on April 3.
THE FIA INSTITUTE WILL HOST ITS SECOND ANNUAL
SUMMIT
The FIA Institute will host its
second annual Summit at the Bahrain International Circuit on
April 3rd. The Centre of Excellence Summit will be chaired
by the Deputy President of the FIA Institute Professor Gerard
Saillant, who will lead the discussions on the subject of ‘Medicine
in Motor Sport'.
The teams in the FIA World
Rally Championship have incorporated the FIA Institute’s
new side impact safety system in time for the start of the
2008 season, beginning with Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo.
FIA INSTITUTE LAUNCHES EXTRICATION
AND RESCUE PROGRAMME
More than 160 race circuit
marshals and medical personnel from around Europe converged
on the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track on 19 January for
the third annual Extrication and Rescue Seminar organised
by the FIA Institute and the French Motor Sport Federation.
The 2007 FIA Institute Centre
of Excellence trophy was presented to the Bahrain International
Circuit in a pre-awards ceremony at the FIA Gala in the Monaco
Sporting Club.
The FIA Institute has announced
the creation of a new Medical Faculty which will seek to consolidate
the expertise of motor sport doctors and medical staff around
the world.
The inaugural FIA Institute Safety
Summit will get underway at the Paul Ricard Circuit today with
attendance from high-level representatives from the world of
sport.
