Risk management in sport

The two-day Summit, hosted by the Paul Ricard circuit, featured keynote speeches from Max Mosley, FIA President, and Roland Blanchet, the Directeur de Cabinet for Jean-François Lamour, the French Minister for Sport.
The programme included presentations from a number of high profile sporting figures including Tsutomu Tomita, Chairman and Team Principal of Panasonic Toyota Racing, Alex Wurz, F1 Driver, Williams F1 Team, and Dr Patrick Schamasch, Director of the Medical and Scientific Department at the International Olympic Committee (IOC).Click here for more.

Medicine in motor sport

The aim of the second annual FIA Institute Summit, which was hosted by the Bahrain International Circuit, was to help develop medical excellence across all motor sport and use this to set a benchmark for medical excellence in other sports, as well as across the Gulf region.
The event was chaired by FIA Institute President Professor Sid Watkins, with more than 150 senior medical professionals from around the world among the delegation. Other delegates included representatives of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, senior representatives of racing and rally teams, manufacturers, promoters, and circuit administrators.
